Summary
Processes diet orders for patients (neonatal through adult), prepares menus per diet census sheet for distribution by Nutrition Associate, modifies menus for compliance with dietary restrictions per approved Nutrition Care Manual, and ensures that patient safety is maintained by adhering to dietary restrictions such as age appropriateness and allergy management. Assists trayline staff by providing information regarding meal item requests and monitors tray and snack accuracy during preparation in order to meet the dietary needs of the patients. Participates in quality control and performance improvement activities for the department. Assists in the assessment of patient family satisfaction with service provided. May assume responsibility for lead role and function as the acting supervisor when needed.
